MULTIPLAYER, on the home screen, opens the online lobby. Online play needs a connection.
Three ways to play
- QUICK MATCH: find an opponent fast. No points at stake.
- RANKED MATCH: a win earns points, a loss costs some. You face players with a similar score.
- PRIVATE MATCH: CREATE gives a six-character code to send to a friend, who types it under JOIN.
In the lobby, you choose the board size and the lines to win. Quick and ranked matches pair you with players who chose the same rules. Who starts is drawn at random.
Ranking and leagues
RANKING lists the players by points, all time: there are no seasons. Four leagues, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond, mark the way. A ranked win earns 25 points, more on a winning streak; a loss costs 15.
Fair play
Leaving a game in progress counts as a defeat. If your opponent stops playing for 90 seconds, you can claim the win. Online games always use the standard rules, without blitz.
